Visual Storytelling

In collaboration with the Dronalist, I present you with Love Letters to Paris. I wrote this poem on the plane ride home. I left Paris with my spirit nourished and my heart full of love. Paris allowed me to cultivate self-love, an action that was foreign for me because I am more comfortable highlighting my flaws. Paris taught me not to let my dark moments diminish my light. They both can coexist as a reminder that no one is perfect. This solo trip made me whole again and allowed me to love myself exactly as I am.

I wrote this poem when I hit complete rock bottom in my life. Everything I ever believed to be about love and life dissipated before my eyes. So I had to rebuild a new belief system where I cultivated a life of happiness on my terms. The only direction you can go from rock bottom is up. It is when you rise again where you begin to rebuild an armor of resiliency.
