I love my wife, mini poodles, visual contrast, and collaboration. Director Statement

Cloud & Bunny is a story that speaks to the profound power of human connection and the courage it takes to open our hearts. This film is inspired by a serendipitous friendship I encountered when I was suffering a series of panic attacks from traumatic memories flooding into my mind and body—but not my spirit. My spirit gently nudged my ego to loosen its grip on the false narrative I was meant to suffer alone, leading me to ask for help from my Cambodian ancestors.

This film explores how we can find safety and love by bravely acknowledging our pain and choosing to walk with it, not against it. As a second-generation Cambodian American, whose parents survived the Cambodian genocide—a time when artists and social influencers were tragically silenced—I am committed to creating space for stories that have long been unheard. I hope this film inspires a new generation within the AAPI community and beyond to share their truths and use their voices.

My path to filmmaking has been an unpredictable one, through navigating personal life changes at the height of my fashion career at powerhouses like Tommy Hilfiger and Marc Jacobs. After a series of traumatic events, I discovered writing my truths was a powerful vessel for healing and emotional release, leading me to teach thousands on using my writing methods as a somatic coach and keynote speaker.

This film is an extension of that journey, an adaptation of a chapter from my one-woman show, Sweet Inner Child O' Mine. With the unwavering support of my producer, Porsha Shanese, I’ve been able to bring this vision to the screen, and I am honored to share it with the world.

Producer Statement

My journey as an artist started in Atlanta when I moved there for better opportunities and growth within the entertainment industry. Over the course of the 7 years I lived there, I truly became a student of the game. Working on several independent projects and video shoots, all pro bono, so that I could gain knowledge on set. That's when the lightbulb came on. I knew that this was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life if I was willing to do it for free.

After moving from Atlanta back to Chicago, I got a job on my first major show on VH1 Network. I worked my way up from production assistant to producer and worked on shows for the Discovery Channel, BET, Bravo, FOX, Netflix, and Food Network. Although I've been having a blossoming career, working in reality tv was never the goal because there's no real room to be creative. Nonetheless, I wouldn't trade my experience for the world. My true passion is to work on scripted television shows and motion pictures.

Earlier this year I was accepted into the Chicago Filmmakers Cohort where I met our Writer and Director of Cloud & Bunny (Mary Kethya Khuon). She brought me onto her project and I am so grateful to be a part of it because it's a story that needs to be told. I am looking forward to all the great things that will unfold from this film. I'm also excited to continue sharpening my skills as a Producer and help to craft meaningful pictures that will touch audiences worldwide.
